| tonight was GOOD. went with Lydia to pop by Jason's Urban Life...their group's just amazing. i walked into Heidi's place and i could just feel that LOVE surrounding me, if you know what i mean? it's truly one of those groups where everyone just really cares about each other and no one's left out.
i met some really great people today, and Jason's message tonight was all about praise and worship. it was interesting. he did it in a really interactive way, and it got us thinking. he asked questions and gave scripture references and got people to share about their experiences...like when did we find it hard to worship? it's easy to praise God when we're having up moment...but when things are going bad, sometimes trying to get into worshipping God is hard.
Psalm 7:17 - "I will praise the Lord according to His righteousness,
And will sing praise to the name of the Lord Most High." (NKJV)
Notice how the verse notes "according". We all know that God's righteousness is bountiful, abundant, never ending. This translates to never being able to praise God too much. How can you ever praise God "too much"? It's unheard of. Think about it. As His righteousness is never ending, so will our praises be. Isn't that AWESOME?
what started out as a simple message became worship with Heidi playing the keys and Adele leading worship with a song, "Jesus". I love that song. It speaks to me. Jason transformed that time of worship into a time of prayer and when there was a silence coming down, he started prophesying. He prophesied over Ben, this one guy whose name I didn't get, Oliver, Laura, Joel...it was WOW. I've heard that Jason's really prophetic and today I saw it. truly. Halfway as he was speaking, I just felt this voice inside me telling me to pray for Lily. I was like "what? no i can't do that. i don't know what to say." but the feeling kept on and on. so finally i did, and the words just POURED out. i didn't know WHAT i was saying. like they just came out and she was sobbing and sobbing and then Lydia came and prophesied over her as well. it was just like...WOW God was using me to speak to her life. I felt so....privileged.
it was Louis' birthday. we celebrated it with cake at the UL meeting. then later we all wanted to hurry over to his place because there was a surprise party there, but only part of the group managed to get there early. i had to take the tram and ended up bumping into Louis, Jason and (i dunno how to spell Louis' friend's name) on the way, and it was like "errrr how am i gonna go up to his place now? it'd be weird and he'd suspect something" but then he invited me up for a free drink since the guys were going up too...so HAHAHA. the surprise worked! we went up, opened the door and it was dark and then Lily came out with the cake and we all started singing and he was just like...0.o <-- hahahah his face REALLY looked like that!!! then we chilled for a bit, and now's 2am. i got back at like 1:10am or something.
Prayer request: pray for Ps. Mike Gug. Pray for God's healing to be upon him. He's such an inspiration, and so is Ps. Amanda. Both of them are going through so much but even as he's sick he's already come up with two WONDERFUL songs, and one of them speaks to me so much(it's about believing that God's my healer), and Ps. Amanda's leading worship in sunday church and in Boom Youth. This just says something about their leadership and their faith in our God who heals. I know God will heal him and I just can't wait to have him back with us in church again, up on stage preaching his heart out about his God who is just the BEST.

| today.....i had to force myself outta bed. it was TORTURE. i wish i could just sleeeeeeeeeep. but i can't. not when exams are looming around the corner. ewwww.
so yeah...and seeing how i slept at like 4am due to a friend who had some problems and needed someone to talk to. i set my morning alarm for 10am and was like....NOOO I WANNA GO BACK TO SLEEP when it finally rang. sob. poor me.
meeting up with Jerica for lunch was good though. met some of her friends, went to say hi to James coz i saw him at the 3 shop. there was another girl from church there. xD hung out a bit, longer than i thought. then had to go home to continue studying.
ANDDDDD...then went over to sharene's place for the core team meeting. had an awesome time. she told us important dates for 2007 and had us jot them down. she addressed some issues that were long time coming, so it was all good. the differences between gossip and complaining. bragging and talking about desires. one thing she said was really good (not that the rest were bad but...this one was something to think about)...about how sometimes your leaders may say things that you don't agree with, or that were too blunt or something. if that happened, you have to forgive your leader. sometimes, when you take time to think about it and see it from a different perspective, then you'll see what they actually meant. maybe the delivery could've been better, but they meant well. after all, your leaders aren't there to pull you down. so whatever it is, practice patience and forgiveness.
"don't chase after ministry, the ministry will chase after you." this was another thing that really said something to me. because a lot of people think "oh i'm a christian and thus i must serve" and then they go searching for a ministry to be involved in, when what they should be focusing on is getting themselves on track and seeking God, because once that's done, they just stand out, and ministry just comes chasing after them. people will be inviting them to serve. when they focus so much on "wanting to serve", somewhere along the lines, they forget WHY they want to serve and WHO they're doing it for in the first place, and that's where their priorities get screwed up. that's one thing i have to check myself on quite a bit, to make sure that i'm not doing it so that i'll be recognized, or to make a name for myself, or anything like that. constantly check yourself: why are you serving?
and then...after the meeting, went to Safeway with Iris, Adeline, and Lily...hahaha grocery shopping...i didn't buy anything except a packet of chips coz they were 2 for $4 and Iris bought one packet. mmhmm. TimTams were on offer though. $1.85 per pack. but i didn't have the cash with me. and i have to be careful with what i spend so i don't spend too much before i get more cash.

| today *ahem* no yesterday, was sunday. and it was an amazing day. seeing how the night before i slept at 4am, i don't see how I managed to get up at 10am, but i did. like WOW. getting prepped for church service at the Melbourne Town Hall, getting prayed up, made up, dressed up....because i was ushering. met up with April beforehand and we went together at 2pm. my second time at the town hall, first time ushering there. i love it there.
met up at the ushering room, caught up with some others i'd met before. i MUST say something about Kathleen(i think that's how her name's spelt). she's kindly, elderly, but you should see her level of passion for God. she's a Planet Shaker! she told me how she moved on from her previous church to City Church because she was "too radical/too passionate" for the other church. she wanted things to happen, but they weren't ready for that. she's amazing.
i have a blast doing ushering. "Hey" "how are ya" "how're you doing?" "how's it going?" big smiles. greetings. all that stuff, and having the people reply...to me, it's really encouraging.
today, we had a guest speaker from the US. Pastor Chris Hill. my word. this man is AWESOME. he's got the whole african-american vibe going on. powerful speaker, deep voice, gets really loud when he's excited, etc. apparently he can't sing for nuts. he didn't demonstrate though. hahah
1st service, he spoke about John 11. Martha's the one people always talk about as the one who was too busy preparing food and stuff and Mary was the one sitting at Jesus' feet listening. In this case, it was the opposite. Martha was the one who went to Jesus and said that if Jesus had been around, her brother would probably have never died. She added "BUT EVEN NOW..." her level of faith was just...wow. He compared how Martha was the one who said that, and not Mary, the one who'd had 7 demons cast out of her. He illustrated how Jesus must've been disappointed that she hadn't kept faith in him, before he'd asked her to take him to where they'd buried Lazarus.
2nd service, he spoke about Genesis 48(i think). Joseph and his dreams. The dreams that his family would bow to him. His brothers sold him to Egypt; hearing about those dreams had merely fueled their hatred for him. In truth, however, they'd actually sold him into his DESTINY. Ps. Chris made a point. God looks at promotions differently that we do. For us, promotions means go UP. For God, they mean you go DOWN. Like Joseph went from favourite son, to hated brother, to slave, to prison inmate, before it all culminated to him becoming the 2nd in command of Egypt.
Next week, Ps. Matt Fielder's speaking. it's gonna be really good.

i met a couple more people today. people are starting to recognize me. hahahah they come up and say hi and i can't even remember their names, much less remember meeting them (for some people). Ben was baaaad today. hahaha he was teasing me from afar. Nathan...iunno. we're weird. we went to the same vocal group, but never talked until PlanetUni camp. then during camp we talked once or twice, then after camp we didn't talk again. and when i see him around, we kinda just...not talk. but like as he's passing, he looks at me and i look at him but we don't do anything until he's almost passed me by and then we smile. and he's gone. it's just...hahaha. but yeah. I LOVE THIS CHURCH. God's been really good. He's placed me among people who can encourage me, who can support me, who can play a role in building me. It's all been really amazing up til now. Not looking forward to going back to M'sia. In a way I am, but 2 and a half months being away from all this....T_T.
I wonder what these next few months have in store for me. Good things I hope. xD
